When you need help for the DWI client

Maryland Counseling Centers, Inc., provides programs designed to meet all of your requirements.

More than 14 years ago, we introduced the first state-approved private outpatient rehabilitation centers in Frederick and Rockville. Many attorneys, judges, and clients recognized the program as a turning point in the quest for innovtive services for the DWI client. Since that time, we have introduced a variety of specialized programs to meet all the needs of the legal community.

Today, Maryland Counseling Centers is recognized as the leader in chemical dependency treatment. We understand that a DWI arrest is an early warning indicator of potential problems with alcohol and that this condition can be helped. Both attorneys and the courts will need a preliminary diagnosis to determine the severity of the defendant's problem. Whether your client is a social drinker in need of education or a problem drinker who requires professional treatment, our experienced staff is ready to place the individual immediately in a suitable program.

Maryland Counseling Centers requires its treatment staff to possess recognized professional credentials. It includes physicians, clinical psychologists, and certified alcohol and drug counselors. Our therapists come to the program only after demonstrating many years of clinical experience and achievement. While some programs rely on staff with only personal experience with addiction, we feel that by hiring licensed professionals, we can provide care consistent with recognized clinical standards. In the long run, this is to the client's benefit.

Our staff conducts a continuous review of the clinical literature on addiction in order to provide state of the art treatment, and each counselor is required to maintain ongoing professional education. In addition, our treatment programs are certified by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Administrative Offices of the Courts. We are happy to provide written evaluations, progress reports, and suggested treatment strategies to assist in the provision of legal services. Our court testimony is designed to help judges better understand a client's clinical history and prognosis at sentencing.
